Our Story

Dr. Sara Rotner has practiced primary care for fifteen years. Over that time, she watched the conditions for good medicine get harder to maintain — not because physicians stopped caring, but because the system stopped giving them room to. Reimbursements declined, panels grew, and administrative burden consumed hours that should have gone to patients. Physicians under those pressures miss things — not because they are careless, but because the tools they have were not built for the environment they work in. The problem is not the physicians. It is what they have been given to work with. Sara co-founded Hekavor to change that — to build AI tools that give physicians back the capacity to practice the way they were trained to. She also knew that building AI physicians could actually trust required an engineering partner who understood what trust means when mistakes cause harm.

Adrit Lath has spent his career building products where errors cause real harm — the da Vinci surgical robot, 4D LiDAR sensors for autonomous vehicles. In those fields, the standard is not "usually works." The system behaves reliably every time, or it does not ship. He brings that discipline to Hekavor. Every product the company builds will meet the same bar: physician-authored, repeatable, and safe enough for the clinical environment.

Mari is where they started. But it is not where they stop. The same combination — clinical depth and engineering rigor — applies to every problem in medicine where AI could reliably reduce the burden on physicians without adding risk. That is what Hekavor is building toward.
